The open multi-level duplex is one of the luxury Buenos Aires apartment rentals that we offer at the Poetry Building. It comes with a spacious living room and the original brick ceiling. This undulating 15′ high roof was constructed from red clay bricks with black support beams. This unique feature is extremely rare in apartments for rent in Recoleta Buenos Aires Argentina.
The large living room features a comfortable sofa, which can become a full-sized bed. This is accompanied by two large Louis XV chairs and an outsized rustic wooden farm coffee table located atop a hand-woven rug from the Northern province of Salta. Hanging from the antique ceiling is a large cut glass chandelier. Moreover, French doors open onto the building’s inner courtyard for natural light. This living space also contains a convenient half bathroom and ample storage space under the staircase.
Stairs down from the living space lead to the dining area, which is divided from the living area by a modern shelving unit. Additionally, the dining room displays a beautiful wooden circular dining table with five Queen Victoria re-upholstered chairs, cut glass wall lamps, a retro dining buffet cupboard, a decorative fireplace, and antique mirrors. French doors open to the rear walls of the building covered by climbing ivy. The combined beauty of quality modern and legitimate antiques is a standard that all of our luxury Buenos Aires apartment rentals in the Poetry Building aim to achieve.
Leading from the dining area is the spacious American style, granite counter-topped, fully equipped kitchen with a large window for plenty of natural light.
Furthermore, at the top of the staircase is the large bedroom area. This is an open plan bedroom and bathroom with ample storage space provided by a grand art deco antique armoire. Atop the polished cement floor of the bedroom is a king size bed with modern headboard and bedside tables. Large French doors face the back end of the building and the en-suite bathroom also has large windows and a decorative mirror by Raul Vidal.
Lighting and artworks by Argentine artist Felipe Giménez complete this distinctive apartment.

Great choice in Recoleta
Throughout our stay we noticed that the relatively small scale of the property. The consistency of the staff created a type of “guest as family member” atmosphere. You often felt as though you were returning home after a day’s excursions. In fact, our daughter was staying separate from us in the City at the same time. She was a regular visitor to the building during our stay. As we left, Yanina made a very kind offer. Our daughter could contact her if she needed anything during the rest of her visit. Afterwards, our daughter did make contact for assistance on a travel matter. As a result, Yanina promptly and graciously assisted.
Also, the building has an on-site driver-for-hire, Claudio. We used Claudio many times during our stay. This included trips to/from both area airports as well as multiple dinners.
Yanina, Irina, Paula, Ken, and Claudio were all pleasant, thorough, helpful and extremely personable. It was clear that the building has many return visitors. The staff is a large and very positive part of the stay.
In conclusion, we highly recommend the Poetry Building for its excellent location, pleasant appointments, and excellent staff.
This is the Place!
We spent a decade of booking apartments and hotels all over Buenos Aires. And finally, we found what we were looking for. We stayed here for the second time. Once again, it was terrific! The owner has a great sense of style, staff speaks English, and the location is excellent.
Great way to enjoy BA
My husband and I and two female friends stayed five nights in this hotel. We stayed in Duplex 2C. The trip was our second to BA. Therefore, we had other places to compare. These were far superior. Likewise, in this hot season, we thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop dipping pool and A/C. Also, we had the option to open beautifully grand windows in the cooler mornings and evenings. There were even baby birds nesting in the potted plant off the window ledge. How cute is that? We used the kitchen for morning meals, which was very convenient.
The apartment had equal parts charm and modern amenities. All of the furnishings were lovely, clean and comfortable. The shower gets hot, and with decent pressure, if you need it. In addition, there were local plug adapters, iPhone charger and a pay-as-you-go cell phone provided. The wifi was a plus. We found the staff to be accommodating and attentive, as well as bilingual (Sp/Eng). Moreover, the location was superb and safe. There are cafes, pastry shops and food markets. They are all within easy walking distance. Value, location and ability to accommodate four adults were our main reasons for booking this space. Poetry Building met these goals. We look forward to staying with them again!
